Imparare qualcosa di nuovo è bello, ma a volte manca il tempo, vero? Già vi sento ed ecco perché questa guida è per voi: imparerete la tecnica di hand lettering in un giorno, promesso!
I’m not saying that you’ll become a pro overnight but if you’d like to try this tecnique and create something beautiful from day 1 to hang in your space (I know my gals), well it is possible! We won’t use brush pens since this is a beginner guide and it takes a bit of time to get confident with a brush (with all those up and down movements and thin and large signs that free hand writing requires) but you’re going to get an amazing result anyway 🙂 Follow this little guide and have fun, it’s all that matters!

Non sto dicendo che diventerete esperte dall’oggi al domani, ma se la calligrafia è ciò che vorreste provare e desiderate creare da subito qualcosa di bello da appendere in camera (tanto vi conosco fanciulle!), beh è possibile! Non useremo penne con punta a pennello perché è una guida per principianti e prendere confidenza con la scrittura a mano libera usando un pennello richiede un po’ più di tempo, ma otterrete comunque un risultato bellissimo 🙂 Seguite questa semplice guida e divertitevi, perché è ciò che più conta!

You need // Vi occorre:
- paper // fogli di carta
- different size pens (I used S and M from Stabilo) // pennarelli con punte di varia misura (io ho usato S e M della Stabilo)
- pencil // matita
- ruler // righello
- rubber // gomma

How to // Come procedere:
1)
First, try to focus on the quote/word and the font you want to write, use Pinterest or Google to see some fonts, I’ve just searched for “hand lettering alphabet” and went for the one I liked the most. Than draw with the pencil a few lines that will help you to write straight. Optional: you can write the quote/word free hand just to see if the space is enough before copying the font. // Innanzitutto, pensate alla scritta/parola e al tipo di carattere che volete creare, usate Pinterest o Google per vedere i font più belli, io ho semplicemente cercato “hand lettering alphabet” e optato per quello che mi piaceva di più. Poi disegnate delle linee sul foglio a matita, che vi aiuteranno a scrivere diritto. Opzionale: per vedere se lo spazio è sufficiente, scrivete a meno libera la scritta/parola, prima ancora di partire col font.
2)
Then write! You just need to copy with pencil the letters you’ve chosen to create the quote and add capitals if needed. Don’t be afraid, you can erase mistakes! At least now haha. If there are bold letters just draw the contours and leave the inside empty. // Si scrive! Dovete semplicemente copiare a matita le lettere come le avete scelte e creare la scritta, aggiungendo nel caso le maiuscole. Non siate preoccupate di sbagliare, potete cancellare gli errori! Almeno per ora ahah. Se ci sono lettere in grassetto, disegnate solo i contorni e lasciate lo spazio interno vuoto.
3)
It’s time to use the pens! Depending on the letters, use fine tip pen for thin parts and the large tip one for the bold parts (and to full the empty space you previously left!). Try to be as accurate as you can, since you just have to go over the pencil signs. // Ora si usano le penne! In base a come sono le lettere, usate la penna a punta fine per le parti sottili e quella a punta larga per il grassetto (e per riempire gli spazi che avete precedentemente lasciato!). Cercate di essere il più precise possibile, dovete semplicemente seguire in contorni fatti a matita.
4)
Let it dry for a few minutes then delicately erase the pencil with the rubber. // Lasciate asciugare per qualche minuto, poi cancellate delicatamente la matita con la gomma.
Voilà! Your hand lettering creation is ready to be displayed on the wall! // Voilà! La vostra creazione è pronta per essere appesa!
