I’m more than excited to decorate the new home for Christmas, since we’re going to have the family here for the Christmas Eve! It will be the first time ever cause we moved here only three months ago and even if the renovation is not 100% complete we’re ready to enjoy the festive season! This is why I’m crafting a lot of DIY decorations, like this DIY advent calendar box you already saw. I’m gonna make a lot of these paper houses for the living room since they are sooo easy to make and super cute! Ready to start?

Sono più che felice di decorare la casa nuova per Natale dato che sarà in assoluto la prima volta che ospiteremo la famiglia per la Vigilia! Ci siamo trasferiti qui tre mesi fa e, nonostante la ristrutturazione non sia completa al 100%, siamo pronti a festeggiare! Ecco perché sto realizzando tante decorazioni handmade, come questo calendario dell’avvento fai da te che avete già visto. Di queste casette penso ne farò diverse, sono troppo carine e davvero facili da realizzare! Pronte a fare la vostra?

You need // vi occorre:
- 2 cardboards in different colors // 2 cartoncini di colore diverso
- scissors or cutter // forbici o taglierino
- pencil // matita
- ruler // righello
- cotton snow // neve di cotone
- glitters // glitter
- glue and adhesive tape // colla e nastro adesivo
How to // come procedere:
1)
Draw the house template on the back of one cardboard: it’s easier than you think. I made a 9+11+9+11+1,5 lenght (3,5+4,3+3,5+4,3+1,7 in) with 9 height (3,5 in) big rectangle that I divided in two squares and two rectangles. On the squares I added a triangle on the top to get the roof shape. You can see all the measures below! // Disegnate il cartamodello della casetta sul retro di un cartoncino. Io ho fatto un grosso rettangolo di lunghezza 9+11+9+11+1,5 cm e alto 9. L’ho poi diviso in due quadrati e due rettangoli e, ai due quadrati, ho aggiunto un triangolino in alto per dare la forma del tetto. Trovate tutte le misure nella foto qui sotto!
2)
Draw the windows (as many as you want) then cut them off. // Disegnate le finestre (quante ne volete) poi ritagliatele.
3)
With the other cardboard draw and cut the details: windows, fence, door and anything you want to add! // Con l’altro cartoncino disegnate e ritagliate i dettagli: finestre, staccionata, porta e qualunque cosa vogliate aggiungere!
4)
Glue the details onto the house thet let dry. I let the house under a book for one hour to press them better. // Incollate i dettagli alla casetta e lasciate asciugare. Io ho lasciato la casetta sotto un libro per un’ora per farli aderire meglio.
5)
Now fold the house along the vertical lines and close it adding glue to the smalles rectangle and fixing it to the next wall. // Ora piegate la casetta lungo le linee verticali e chiudetela mettendo la colla sul rettangolino più stretto, che farete aderire bene al “muro” successivo.
6)
Now draw and cut the roof, about 13×15 cm (5,1×5,9 in) and fix it to the house from the inside with adhesive tape. // Disegnate e ritagliate il tetto di circa 13×15 cm, poi fissatelo alla casa dall’interno con del nastro adesivo.
7)
Cover the roof and the parts of the house you want with some glue and add the snow, then sprinkle glitters on it! The cotton snow will keep them even with no glue. // Coprite il tetto o le parti della casa che volete con della colla, poi attaccate la neve. Aggiungete poi i glitter, che resteranno attaccati al cotone anche senza colla.
Voilà! Isn’t is so cute and fairy? You can also add little lights into the house, as I did, to bring it to life. I love the magical atmosphere that little details can bring to the house! This project is extremely easy with a big wow effect, don’t you think? I’m gonna make more of these houses and pair them with the DIY snow Winter scene jar I made last year. Christmas fairytales all around!

Voilà! Non è adorabile? Potete anche mettere delle lucine nella casetta così da renderla più viva. Mi piace l’atmosfera magica che anche dei piccoli dettagli sanno dare! Questo progetto, poi, è estremamente semplice ma ha un effetto meraviglioso, secondo me. Farò tantissime casette e le metterò vicine al barattolo con scena invernale fai da te dell’anno scorso. Insomma, favole di Natale a non finire!
