With that in mind, I’ve put together a few tips about the things you should be thinking of before considering to move to a new town. Few years ago, before buying our new house, we really considered the idea of going away and, if we didn’t, it is because we focused on some points and, in the end, we understood it wasn’t what we needed. Hope these tips can be helpful for you too!

Detto questo, ho messo insieme qualche consiglio sulle cose da tenere a mente prima di decidere di trasferirsi. Questo perché, qualche anno fa, prima di compare la nostra nuova casa, volevamo andare via e, se non l’abbiamo fatto, è perché abbiamo studiato i vari punti e, alla fine, abbiamo capito che non era ciò che davvero volevamo. The budget // Il budget
Before you do anything else you need to work out what your overall budget is, whether it’s for moving costs, rent or the cost of living. Depending on how far you’re moving removal costs can be quite steep and if you’re moving to a major city, rent and living costs are also going to be incredibly high. Factoring your overall budget into your decision is the best way to ensure you’re making the right choice when it comes to money. // Prima di qualunque altra cosa, dovete pensare a quanto ammonta il vostro budget, dal viaggio, all’affitto (o acquisto) di una casa, al costo della vita in generale (questo sito è fantastico per farvi un’idea). In base a dove andrete i costi possono infatti variare moltissimo; se, ad esempio, andrete in una grande città è molto molto probabile che spenderete di più che in periferia e via dicendo. Insomma, rompete il salvadanaio perché, ancora una volta, il denaro cambia le carte in tavola.
The job // Il lavoro
If you haven’t yet, it may be worth researching what kind of job is available in the new area you’re moving to. Maybe you’re moving because your company gave you this opportunity but, whilst most people will already have a job lined up when they make a big move like this, it is also possible that you’re moving with a big question mark ahead. If this is you, consider getting a feel for what kind of positions you can apply before by searching local job boards before you move. // Se ancora non l’avete fatto, sarà il caso di fare una ricerca per capire quali offerte lavorative la nuova zona offre. Forse vi state trasferendo perché ve l’ha chiesto la vostra azienda ma, mentre ci sono persone che hanno già definito la carriera futura, c’è anche la possibilità che vi stiate spostando con davanti un grande punto di domanda. Prima di cambiare luogo, guardate le offerte di lavoro e cercate di capire quale sarà il vostro futuro lavorativo un volta arrivate.
Family & pets // Famiglia e animali
Assumed that it is a common choice and you’re not forcing anyone to come with you, when choosing to move to a new city you need to consider absolutely everyone involved. Whether it’s your partner, your children or your pets. Check for job roles for your partner or help him/her to do that, find a school for your children and of course, reputable vets for your pets. To do this, the best thing to do is search for vets near me. // Dato per scontato che la decisione di partire sia condivisa e che non stiate costringendo nessuno a venire con voi, nel momento in cui dovete cambiare città è bene considerare nuove sistemazioni per chiunque parta. Sia che sia il partner, dei figli o gli animali. Date un’occhiata alle offerte lavorative per il partner o dategli/le una mano con la ricerca, trovate la scuola per i figli ed un veterinario affidabile per i vostri amici pelosi. Tutti devono sentirsi a casa, una volta arrivati.
House & nearby // Casa e vicinato
If you’ve found the house you want to move to in your new location, it’s important you check what kind of amenities are nearby. Are there local shops? What is within walking distance? Are you near to a school? If you’re feeling unsure about an area you can always ask a local forum or community group on Facebook. The important is to focus on your needs and hobbies so that you can everything you like to feel at home again. Plus, talking about home, a big factor when choosing where you want to move should be what the houses in the local area are like. Make sure you do your research and take the time to view as many as you possibly can before you make your final decision. // Se avete trovato la casa dove andrete a vivere, date un’occhiata al vicinato e a ciò che offre. Ci sono negozi? Cosa si può raggiungere a piedi? Quali servizi offre? L’importante è focalizzarsi sui propri bisogni e le proprie passioni, così da sentirsi nuovamente a casa, anche se lontane. Parlando di casa, poi, siate pronte a fare ricerche online su come sono le abitazioni di quella zona e a visionare più immobili potete prima di sceglierne una.

Finally, you need to be sure the move is going to make you happy, after all, you wouldn’t be doing it otherwise, would you? This is something that only heart can know, there are no tips for it. If you’re feeling unsure or having doubts, at least remember that absolutely nothing is permanent! // Infine, dovete essere sicure che questa scelta vi renderà felici, altrimenti non l’avreste presa in considerazione, giusto? Questa, però, è una domanda alla quale solo il cuore può rispondere e non ci sono consigli che possano aiutare. Se avete dubbi o vi sentite insicure tuttalpiù pensate che ogni cosa cambia!
