Già, perché il luogo in cui vivete deve riflettere la vostra personalità e dargli lo stile giusto può essere la parte più difficile di una ristrutturazione. Siete d’accordo? Perché per me è così!
If you’re following my renovation progress you probably know that renovating is no joke. Even choosing the style of your home can be challenging, if you don’t know where to start from. This is why I am here to share all my tips! Hope you’ll find them helpful 😀

Se state seguendo i progressi della mia ristrutturazione probabilmente sapete che ristrutturare non è affatto semplice. Persino scegliere uno stile per la propria casa può essere una sfida, se non si sa da che parte iniziare. Ecco perché sono qui a condividere i miei consigli! Spero siano d’aiuto 😀

KNOW THE STYLES // CONOSCI GLI STILI
First thing first: you can’t choose a style if you don’t know at least some of them. It is impossible to list all the styles, so I made a little recap of the better known. // Per cominciare: non potete scegliere uno stile senza conoscerne almeno qualcuno. Essendo però praticamente infiniti, ho fatto un mini riassunto di quelli più conosciuti.
Classic – traditional // Classico – tradizionale
Neutral warm colors, symmetry, a lot of wood, furniture with curved details, floral patterns, wooden doors/cabinets with frames, natural stones, rugs and curtains. // Colori neutri caldi, simmetrie, tanto legno, arredi con dettagli curvi, stampe floreali, porte/ante in legno con cornici coprifilo, pietre naturali, tappeti e tende.
Modern // Moderno
Clean lines, cold colors and sometimes with one in contrast, few textures and materials, cold lighting, asymmetrical layout, glass or laquered doors/cabinets, metallic details. // Linee pulite, colori freddi e a volte con uno in contrasto, pochi materiali, luce fredda, layout asimmetrico, porte/ante in vetro o laccate, dettagli metallici.
Industrial – rustic // Industriale – rustico
Similar but different, they have in common warm colors, wood, bricks, natural stones. Floral patterns, copper and leather details, country vibes for the rustic; wiring, concrete, black elements and industrial objects as decor for the industrial. // Simili ma diversi, hanno in comune i colori caldi, il legno, i mattoni a vista, le pietre naturali. Le stampe floreali, i dettagli in rame e pelle, il gusto country sono dello stile rustico; i cavi a vista, il cemento, gli elementi neri e gli oggetti industriali come decor sono invece di quello industriale.
Boho chic – ethnic // Boho chic – etnico
Warm colors (with ’70s vibes for the boho chic), arches, natural textures (wood, rope, straw, leather, …), rugs, decor lighting, plants and lots of decor pieces (with ethnic vibes for the ethnic style, of course!). // Colori caldi (con un tocco anni ’70 per il boho chic), archi, texture naturali (legno, corda, paglia, pelle, …), tappeti, illuminazione decorativa, piante e tanti oggetti di decor (ovviamente etnici per lo stile etnico!).
Retro // Vintage
Pop colors, straight/curved/arched lines mixed together, asymmetrical layout, retro furniture, wallpapers, prints and art decor. // Colori pop, linee dritte, curve e arcuate tutte insieme, layout asimmetrico, arredamento vintage, carte da parati, stampe ed elementi d’arte come decor.
Eclectic // Eclettico
Bright colors all mixed up, a lot of textures, patterns and materials, wall art, plants, stones and metals. // Colori accesi tutti mischiati tra loro, un sacco di materiali e stampe, tanti quadri alle pareti, piante, pietre naturali e metalli.
More styles (fyi): minimal, shabby chic, Scandinavian, contemporary, marine, tropical and so on! // Altri stili (per vostro interesse): minimal, shabby chic, scandinavo, contemporaneo, marino, tropicale e così via!
PICK YOUR STYLE // SCEGLI IL TUO STILE
Now that you know the styles, you’re at the crucial point: which one should I choose? To make it easier, try to ask yourself these three questions: which style is the one I esthetically like the most? Is it the most functional in terms of size of the house, habits, family (alone, couple, babies, animals, etc), house design (classic cut, open space, etc)? Could it make me feel comfortable to live in and does it reflect my personality? When you have the 3 answers and the last 2 are “yes”, you have the style! // Ora che conoscete gli stili, siete al punto cruciale: quale dovrei scegliere? Per rendere il tutto più semplice, ponetevi queste tre domande: quale stile mi piace di più esteticamente parlando? E’ il più funzionale in termini di dimensioni della casa, di abitudini, di famiglia (sola, in coppia, con bambini, con animali, ecc), di taglio della casa (classico, open sace, ecc)? Mi farebbe sentire a mio agio a viverci e rispecchia di più la mia personalità? Quando avrete le 3 risposte e le ultime 2 saranno “sì”, avrete lo stile!
MAKE IT YOURS! // RENDILO TUO!
Your home is your palace, so even if you’re opting for the style you’ve been pinned for years, you have to make it yours or your home will end up looking cold and with no personality. Yes, because if it’s good to have a key style, the secret of a beautiful and comfortable home is to adapt it to your life. Develop each room following one or more elements of the style (ex. the colors, the materials, etc) but feel free to add/remove anything you like or don’t. Like a common thread with variants. Your home will be really and only yours and you’ll be so proud of it! // La vostra casa è il vostro palazzo, quindi anche se state optando per lo stile che avete sognato per anni guardando le foto di Pinterest, dovete renderlo vostro o la vostra abitazione finirà con l’apparire fredda e senza personalità. Già, perché anche se è bene seguire uno stile guida, il segreto per una casa bella e accogliente è adattarlo alle proprie esigenze. Sviluppate ogni stanza seguendo uno o più elementi dello stile (ad es. i colori, i materiali, ecc) ma sentitevi libere di aggiungere o togliere ciò che vi piace o no. Come un filo comune ma con delle varianti. La vostra casa sarà davvero e solamente vostra e alla fine ne sarete davvero fiere!
